One of my most favorite things to photograph are storms. There is something about the raw power, the fierceness, of a storm that just reaches out and grabs you...even from film...

Rolling clouds...this one makes me think of Johnny
Cash's song "Ghost Riders in the Sky".

I like the way you can see the front moving through in this one...

This picture was taken from the security of my son's hospital room during a storm last summer. He had just had surgery and we were waiting for him to wake up fully from the anesthesia...while we were looking out the window this huge storm rolled in and we got to watch it's power and fury as it was unleashed on the motorists on the highway below. We also saw the resulting wrecks and were very thankful that we were safe inside, even if the reason 'why' we were inside wasn't all that wonderful.

This photo was taken in Virginia and shows the difference between the darker areas where the storm is and the glowing light where the storm has already passed. Kind of seems like a story about life in general...the light after the darkness...
