This is just one of those moments that you have to get photos of....it's SNOW!!! Real, white, fluffy, wet, cold, SNOW! Those of you who live around here understand my excitement...if anyone from somewhere other than this part of NC is reading this and doesn't understand, here's the explanation....it's not something we see often. When I was a child, it wasn't all that unusual to see at least one big snowfall each winter, sometimes 2, 3, or 4 big snows. By big snows, I mean an event where you get enough snow that you can't see a single blade of grass through it, and where the tree branches hang low from it...generally at least 5-6 inches of snow. In the past fifteen years I can count the number of 'big snows' we've had on one hand...I guess it's global warming or something, but we usually only get a dusting or maybe an inch at a time these days. Anyway, Sunday night and into Monday morning we got our first 'big snow' in years...a whole 5" of the bright white stuff...and it was beautiful!!!

A pale pink & blue sunrise in the background really showed off the beauty of these snowy branches...

Couldn't make out the first one too well. The last one is my favorite. The poem,'Stopping By The Woods On A Snowy Eve' was written for this picture.
