One of the cool things at the park is the ancient poplar tree. It's been around forever, as you'll see from the plaque below, and it is absolutely HUGE! Several people could stand inside the hollow of the tree quite comfortably.

The crevasse that the cow and calf were hidden in, and where people have taken shelter from storms. (Considering the prepensity for lightening strikes hitting this tree, I'm not positive it'd be my first choice!)
I don't know if it's because the tree is so very old, or some other reason, but the bark is very interesting to look at...
